The ICC Council short listed 5 cricketers for the LG People Choice Award category at the LG ICC Awards. This event will be scheduled on 6th October in Bengaluru, India.
The 5 Cricketers are Mike Hussey of Australia, Mahela Jayawardena of Sri Lanka, Andrew Strauss of England, Sachin Tendulkar of India and AB de Villiers of South Africa.
The five-man ICC selection panel have selected on the basis of innovative parameters. The panel members are West Indies Captain and current chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee Clive Lloyd, Angus Fraser, Mattew Hayden and Ravi Shastri.
The ICC Awards ceremony is now in 7th year will be held in Bengaluru, India. Earlier ceremonies were held in London (2004), Sydney (2005), Mumbai (2006), Johannesburg (2007 and 2009) and Dubai (2008).
