Sharapova withdrawn from Rogers Cup

Maria Sharapova was injured in the WTA event. This event was held at Cincinnati on Sunday. Sharapova lost the game against, Kim Clijsters with a score of 2-6, 7-6, and 6-2.

The Rogers cup tournament is going to start in Montreal, the day before Sharapova got injured. Sharapova said that” Kim Clijsters is a great player and she performed very well in the match. I had some heel injury and could not unable to play the game in the second set of WTA event and left the game. I need few more days to time to take rest and get relief from the pain and currently I could play the Rogers cup due to foot injury.”

Finally, the 27 year old, Kim Clijsters has won the Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open Tournament and was ranked at No.4. Earlier, Kim Clijsters also won the tournament happened in Miami and Brisbane.

Maria Sharapova was ranked No-12 in the Rogers cup and she has to play against Lucie Sharapova in the first round going to start in Montreal.
