Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi to Play in CWG

On Friday, Aug 13th, the Common wealth Games selection committee has announced the tennis player’s names to play for CWG. The players are Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna. The tennis players were announced by CWG committee member Anil Dhupar.

Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna are going to play the Men’s singles tennis tournament in CWG. Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi are going to play men’s doubles event. The CWG selection committee has also selected 3 reserve players, Vishnu Vardhan, Yuki Bhambri and V M Ranjeet for the team.

The CWG women’s tennis selection was delayed due to the training camp held in Pune. The CWG committee will start the selection of Women tennis players to play for CWG women’s tennis team after the completion of the training camp. Currently, the coaches for training camp are Nandan Bal, Jaidip Mukerjea and Enrico Piperno.

The four Men’s players in CWG team are Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna. They were also selected for the Davis Cup to play against Brazil in the month of September.
