According to the ATP rankings released on Monday, none of the Men’s tennis player is listed in top 10. This happened for the first time since 1973.
The American Tennis player, Andy Roddick stood in the 11th position according to 2010 ATP rankings list released today. Since 2006, Andy Roddick stood in top 10, but this time his rank was dropped. Andy Roddick was the last American tennis player to win Men’s singles grand slam title in 2003.
Now, the players Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer stood in top 10 ATP tour tennis rankings. The Grand Slam final tennis event is going to start from Aug 30th in New York. The Women tennis player, Serena Williams stood in the top rankings and Venus Williams stood in the fourth position at WTA tour.
The former No.1 men’s tennis player, Jim Courier said that “What the lack of a U.S. top-10 male this week points out to me more than anything is how lucky U.S. tennis fans have been over the years”. Courier added that, the absence of American Players in top 10 would get more publicity than other set of top players.
