Nicolas Anelka Banned for 18 Games

The French Football Federation has banned, Nicolas Anelka from 18 games on Tuesday. The other Manchester United players who were suspended are Patrice Evra for 5 games, Franck Ribery for 3 and Jeremy Toulala for one game.

The Chelsea striker, Nicolas Anelka was punished very severely when compared to the other players. Anelka was sent home for insulting the coach, Raymond Domenech. In the last week game against Norway, Laurent Blanc has suspended 23 squad members.

The French football federation (FFF) called the football coach, Raymond Domenech and former FFF head, Jean-Pierre Escalette to have discussion on the suspension issue for the witnesses proof. The FFF has withdrawn the advertising bonus to be given for the world cup players.

The Sports minister, Roselyne Bachelot stated that "they could no longer be heroes for our children". "They have destroyed the dreams of their countrymen, their friends and supporters".

Finally, Nicolas Anelka, 31, ended his football career with 18 games suspension.
