Elena Baltacha to Play for Common Wealth Games (CWG)

The Scotland tennis player, Elena Baltacha is going to play at Common wealth youth games. The venue is RK Khanna Tennis Stadium. The tournament would commence from Oct 4th to 10th.

Elena Baltacha was ranked world no.56 and she will join the team of Jamie Murray, Colin Fleming, Jocelyn Rae and Mhairi Brown. Elena Baltacha, 28, played along with Mhairi Brown in the common wealth games happened in 2000. But, in the final, she lost the game against England.

Elena Baltacha stated that “It’s a great opportunity for me to play in CWG and I will do my level best.  It is difficult to compete and win at common wealth youth games, but this year I have a complete glance about the games to be happened in Delhi”.

Rae, 19, played Wimbledon singles in final round and she will be appearing for first time in the Scotland’s women’s tennis at CWG.
