Inconsistency was the theme of this team all season, and much of the blame probably should have done right by Weber for the way he treated his rotation. The failures of this week came from DJ Richardson, who has not scored against the Spartans. All men must play key for a chance to beat OSU.
Not that the Buckeyes had only last week but they blew their chance to move to the No. 1 team in the country where they were beaten by Purdue Boilermakers Sunday afternoon. It was the second road loss this year against the best in the Big Ten and it certainly raises questions about the legality of this team and this conference. Ohio State knows that it remains safe now for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but there may be more margin of error that can be done until at least the semifinals and then for the Big Ten tournament, and although we're not so sure that a press release before the final would do the job. The big problem was that the Buckeyes this weekend was rare, Jared Sullings just not getting much help from his friends. He did score 25 points in the win, but Dallas Lauderdale and DeShaun Thomas were both held without a goal, while William Buford was only 1-for-5 from the floor.
Ohio State will strike again this week when he has all season. The Illini were beaten at Assembly Hall, when these two teams met last month and we expect to see a victory far more comfortable, now the Bucks are back in Columbus.
